Ambitious, hard worker, determined. These are just three of the many words that describe me. My name is Mica Alexia Cunningham and I am a Bahamian-Trinidadian 20 year old student at the University of Cincinnati. I am currently a Senior majoring in Chemistry and minoring in Medical Sciences with the intent of attending medical school to become the first practicing Bahamian developmental-behavioral pediatrician. I am a highly motivated individual and I do not let setbacks discourage me. I believe that everyone on this earth is placed here for a purpose and I am fully using college to explore that purpose. I have a passion for helping others and am an avid volunteer. I strive for perfection so that I can come as close to it as possible. I dream big dreams and believe with every fiber of my being that they can indeed come true. My experience thus far within the University Honors Program has been a great one. Within the University Honors Program, I was challenged to continue to excel as well as act on my instincts to participate in student programs and organizations that sparked my interest. Through the University Honors Program, I am able to document these many experiences that I have while being a college student. Currently, I am a member of Women in Leadership and Learning (WILL), a volunteer at Cincinnati Children's Hospital, President of UC Cultural Connections, co-President/Founder of Cariba Caribbean Student Association and Honors Ambassador and Resident Advisor of the Gen-1 House at Stratford Heights. I love to listen to music, advocate for social justice, read articles about current world events and attend various events on and off campus.
